I started Moonrise Labs because early-stage companies in regulated industries face a specific problem: they need experienced technical leadership and execution, but the traditional consulting model doesn't deliver either.

Consultants give you strategy without shipping. Staff augmentation gives you shipping without strategy. What most early-stage teams need is someone who can do both: architect systems that will scale, write the code to prove it, and stay long enough to see it through.

My background is in environments where getting security, compliance, and reliability wrong isn't an option. Healthcare, finance, energy. I've found that those constraints produce better engineering, and companies that execute well in regulated environments build real competitive advantages.

I work differently than most contractors. Engagements often start with building, but they evolve based on what the company needs. Architecture decisions, compliance planning, hiring support, technical strategy. Some engagements are six months. Some become multi-year partnerships.
